The Trade Show has been in operation for 30 years!! WOW!!! What an achievement!
This group of women have been involved with the community always helping Oliver and area residents to live healthier lives. Community services such as weeding at McKinney Place, manning the Covid-19 Vaccine Clinic for months, serving at the +50 Anniversary Tea, co-hosting a Healthy Living Fair with the Town of Oliver and Oliver Parks & Recreation to just name a few. Organizing and participating in fun events, such as the Swinging Skirts Charity Tournament and the Sunshine Parade with the Roots & Fruits Festival.
With their largest fund raiser, being the successful Trade Show, WOW has continued to donate to organizations, schools and many individuals over the years. Desert Sun, Oliver Food Bank, Oliver Air Cadets, Highway to Healing, Starfish Backpack Program, Small Wheels (Youth Skateboard Park), Maple Spring Bible Camp, Oliver High School Day Care just name a few.
WOW has always been proudest of their Education Award which is donated to a woman who want. to continue her schooling to improve her life and able to be self supportive. Many have been able to move forward with their lives because of this donation,
New members are always welcome. See contact information.

WOW Society members were pleased to be able to volunteer at the Vaccine Clinic located at the Oliver Legion.
Duties commenced with the greeting of the people, making sure that everyone had a mask, sanitized their hands, and were asked all the Covid questions.
Next was the guidance of the continual traffic flow to the registration table and to which nurse would be available to apply the next vaccine shot.
Then the necessary close observation, during the 15 minutes waiting period, to be sure that no one had any reactions or required any assistance in any way.
Wow members were also available to make appointments and assist with rides to the clinic. The total recorded volunteer hours by WOW members in 2021 alone was over 1,055 hours. Many more volunteer hours continued even when the clinic was moved to the curling rink in 2022.
It was great as all received vaccinations and looked forward to future shots to possibly return to some form of normalility and socialization.
Each year the Women of Oliver for Women host a WOW Trade Show at the Oliver Community Centre. If you are interested in finding out more, check out this page for regular updates!
Each year we give away an Educational Award for women, who through circumstances, need to return to the workforce and require further education. Find out more, or apply for the award here.
