Women of Oliver for Women

Women of Oliver for Women is an informal non-profit Society of community minded individuals who believe in giving back to the community by working for the betterment of women and families, providing community service and raising funds for worthwhile causes.

WOW has served Oliver for many years after leaving the Soroptimist affiliation.

33rd Annual Trade Show New Vendors

Here’s a composite list of all the new vendors that will be at our show this year. Please welcome the following: Gaynor with Desert Valley Hospice Society, Gina with Highway to Healing, Samantha with InnerVisions Salon Inc., Patricia with Handcrafter Art, Kim with Community Foundation South Okanagan Similkameen, Sandra with a variety of small items., Trish with Total Body Restoration and Wellness, Marianne with Lightfoot in the Kitchen, Leanne with Special Olympics BC., Diana with Challah by Design, Tracey with Crystal Mobiles., Chris with Fogartees, Jenny with Inner Bliss Belly Dancing, Donna with knitted items, Paula with Paula’s Pendants & Gems, and Amanda with Quail & Vine.We are also please to welcome new vendors SOS Medical Foundation, Desert Sun Counselling and the Oliver Food Bank. These vendors, as well as The Okanagan Gleaners, are regular recipients of funds raised through WOW efforts in the community.

SOS Medical Foundation Donation

CEO Ian Lindsay is accepting the cheque from Diane Worth, President.

WOW is thrilled to present South Okanagan Similkameen Medical Foundation with $500 from money raised within our community to be used to support our community.  For more information on how you can receive a tax-deductible receipt for your donation go to https://sosmedicalfoundation.com/# and click on the Donate Now link.

Entry donations from our 33rd Annual WOW Trade Show, held this year on Saturday, March 28, will be split between SOS Medical Foundation and Desert Sun Wellness.

Okanagan College Foundation Donation

A year ago, WOW established a Legacy Fund for a bursary for a full-time student, identifying as female, and a single parent with dependents. The first $1000 award will be available in September 2026. Our Mission

To enrich the lives of women and children in our community and beyond.

Membership

Membership is open to those who would be interested in helping the organization achieve the goal of “Enriching the Lives of Women and Children in our Community and Beyond.” 

Meetings

Meetings are currently being held on the third Tuesday of every month at 6:30 PM from September to June at the Quail’s Nest Art Studio located at 5840 Airport Road, Oliver, BC.

Our Community Services

WOW Community services vary from assisting with the Senior’s Anniversary Tea and the Gleaners, Roots & Fruits Talent Event, Christmas Hampers, as well as caring for the entrance gardens at McKinney Place plus Oliver Vaccination Clinic.

Our Fundraisers

We currently have two major fundraising projects.

TRADE SHOW:  We host the annual WOW Trade Show every Spring at the Oliver Community Centre.  Find out more here. 

CHRISTMAS AUCTION: We host an invitation only auction at the end of November. Please contact us by email at oliverwowsociety@gmail.com for more information.

Who We Support

Our fundraising efforts have allowed us to support many organizations within our community such as the Desert Sun Counselling, Oliver Air Cadets, Highway to Healing, Oliver Food Bank, Starfish Backpack Program, the playground at Oliver Elementary School, an educational award for women, funds to enable children to attend the Sun Fun Program in the summer, Oliver High School Day Care, Youth Sports, OK Gleaners, Small Wheels Playground, plus many other spontaneous requests.

Annual Trade Show

Each year the Women of Oliver for Women host a WOW Trade Show at the Oliver Community Centre. If you are interested in finding out more, check out this page for regular updates!

Educational Award

In 2025, we partnered with Okanagan College Foundation to create a Legacy Fund which will provide a yearly scholarship of $1000.
