Women of Oliver for Women Society (WOW) is happy to announce that it has donated $1500 to the Oliver Starfish Backpack Program to provide children with a basic need. Some children go to school hungry
for many unfortunate reasons and also may not have sufficient food over the weekend. This program will provide the student three meals and snacks per day in a backpack to last the weekend. Hopefully the children will come to school on Monday feeling better prepared to learn and play as children should.
This beneficial program is organized by Sam Marsel, supported by the Town of Oliver, the Rotary Club and Buy-Low Foods. WOW’s mission statement is “To enrich the lives of women and children in our community and beyond.”
